haematemesis
vomiting of blood, which may occur for a number of different reasons. Common causes are ulcers, either GASTRIC or DUODENAL , or GASTRITIS , especially when this is caused by irritants or poisons such as alcohol. Also, blood may be swallowed and subsequently vomited as a result of a nosebleed.
