the cell produced by the fusion of male and female germ cells ( GAMETES ) during the early stage of FERTILIZATION , i.e. an OVUM fertilized by a SPERM . After passing down the FALLOPIAN TUBE , it implants in the UTERUS , forming the EMBRYO .
