the assessment of a person's DEAFNESS by using a tunning fork. The stem of a vibrating fork is placed on the forehead or maxillary INCISORs and if the hearing is normal, the sound is equal in both EARs . It helps to diagnose whether hearing loss is caused by a middle ear disorder or a neurosensory loss.
