1. one of the two major chambers within the HEART . They are thick-walled and muscular and from the main pumping chamber. The right ventricle receives BLOOD from the right ATRIUM and the VENAE CAVAE , and its outflow is the pulmonary ARTERY . The left ventricle takes blood from the pulmonary VEIN via the left atrium, and its outflow is the AORTA . 2. cavities within the BRAIN , filled with CEREBROSPINAL FLUID .
