unconsciousness

the state of being partially or totally unaware of one's surroundings and lacking in response to stimuli. SLEEP is a natural form of unconsciousness. Unnatural states of unconsciousness can have numerous causes, including injuries to the brain, resulting in compression or concussion, fainting because of insufficient blood supply to the brain, EPILEPSY , poisoning and various diseases, e.g. DIABETES MELLITUS .
