an abnormal swelling in any part of the body, which consists of an unusual growth of tissue and may be MALIGNANT or BENIGN . Tumours tend to be classified according to the tissue of which they are composed, e.g. FIBROMA (mainly fibrous tissue and MYOMA (largely muscle fibres).
