trigeminal nerve
the fifth and largest of the CRANIAL NERVES , which has three divisions: the mandibular, maxillary and ophthalmic nerves. The ophthalmic and maxillary are SENSORY nerves and the mandibular has both sensory and MOTOR functions. Hence the trigeminal nerve is involved in the relaying and perception of sensations (temperature, touch, pain, etc) form the whole of the FACE and MOUTH and also in controlling the muscles involved in chewing.
