blood poisoning result from the TOXINS produced by rapidly multiplying BACTERIA at a localized site of INFECTION , such as an ABSCESS . Symptoms are varied, including fever, vomiting and diarrhoea and a general feeling of being unwell. The source of the infection has to be treated with ANTIBIOTIC drugs. Toxaemia of PREGNANCY involves two relatively rare conditions known as ECLAMPSIA and PRE-ECLAMPSIA .
