T-cell

A T-cell, also called a T-LYMPHOCYTE, is a type of WHITE BLOOD CELL produced from stem cells in the BONE MARROW and matured in the THYMUS. T-cells are important components of the IMMUNE SYSTEM and help protect the body by identifying infected cells, coordinating immune responses, and destroying abnormal CELLS. Different types of T-cells include helper T-cells, cytotoxic T-cells, and regulatory T-cells.

T-cells are immune cells that help the body fight infections and remove abnormal cells.
