syncope

a temporary loss of consciousness because of a fail in BLOOD PRESSURE and a reduced supply of blood to the BRAIN . It may occur after standing for a long time (particularly in hot weather) or after shock or injury. Typical signs that occur before an attack are sweating and a feeling of light-headedness.
