medication prepared in a form that enables it to be inserted into the RECTUM (or VAGINA ). It may be a lubricant, contain drugs for treatment in the area of the rectum or ANUS or for absorption. The suppository has to be inserted beyond the SPHINCTER muscle to ensure retention.
