squint

an abnormal condition in which the EYES are crossed. There are two types: paralytic and nonparalytic. The paralytic type is the result of a muscular or neurological malfunction, while a nonparalytic squint is caused by a defect in the actual relative position of the eyes. Some squints can be corrected by surgery.
