the involuntary REFLEX expulsion of air via the NOSE and MOUTH caused by irritating particles in the nose, e.g. pollen. It is also symptomatic of the COMMON COLD , MEASLES , HAY FEVER , etc. One sneeze can project many thousands of drops over several matres at great speed (>60 km/hour) and is therefore instrumental in the spread of INFECTIONS .
