skin graft

a piece of skin taken from another site on the body to cover an injured area, commonly the result of BURNS . The GRAFT is normally taken from elsewhere on the patient's body (auto-graft) but occasionally from someone else (homograft). A variety of thicknesses and graft types are used, depending on the WOUND .
