serum sickness

a hypersensitive reaction that occasionally occurs several days after INJECTION of foreign SERUM , producing rashes, joint pains, fever and swelling of the LYMPH NODES . It is the result of circulating ANTIGEN material to which the body responds. It is not a serious condition.
