scrub typhus

a disease prevalent in Southeast Asia, caused by a parasitic microorganism, Rickettsia, which is transmitted from rodents to humans by the bite of mites. It causes chills, headaches, high temperatures, rashes and possibly delirium. An ULCER develops at the initial bite. The condition can be treated with ANTIBIOTICS .
