INFLAMMATION of a tube, usually the FALLOPIAN TUBE , by bacterial INFECTION . It may originate in the VAGINA or UTERUS , or be carried in the BLOOD . PERITONITIS can ensue. Severe cases may cause a blockage of the Fallopian tubes, de facto STERILIZATION .
