Ross River fever

Ross River fever is an infectious disease caused by the Ross River virus, an ALPHAVIRUS transmitted to humans through MOSQUITO bites. The virus naturally circulates between mosquitoes and animal hosts, and infection occurs mainly in Australia and parts of the western Pacific region. Symptoms may include FEVER, FATIGUE, muscle pain, POLYARTHRITIS, and a skin RASH made up of MACULES and PAPULES. Most people recover over time, although joint symptoms may persist for weeks or months.
