any illness that is caused by harmful radiation from radioactive substances. This may be a complication of RADIOTHERAPY for cancer and produces symptoms of nausea, vomiting and sometimes itchiness of the skin. ANTIHISTAMINE drugs and TRANQUILLIZERS such as chlorpromazine are used to alleviate the condition.
