perspiration

the excretion from millions of tiny SWEAT GLANDS in the skin. Sweat that evaporates from the skin immediately is insensible perspiration, while that forming drops is sensible perspiration. Sweat is produced in two types of sweat glands. The EXOCRINE GLANDS are found mainly on the soles of the feet and palms of the hands. The APOCRINE glands are in the armpits and around the anus and genitalia. Sweat is produced in response to stimuli such as fear and sexual arousal, but the major function of sweating is the regulation of body TEMPERATURE .
