a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella paratyphi A,B or C. Symptoms resemble those of TYPHOID FEVER and include diarrhoea, a rash and mild fever. It can be treated with ANTIBIOTICS and temporary IMMUNITY against the A and B form is gained by VACCINATION with TAB vaccine.
