non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

a large group of drugs used to relieve pain and also inhibit INFLAMMATION . They are used for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, sprains, etc, and include ASPIRIN . The main SIDE EFFECT is gastric ulcer or haemorrhage, but the synthesis of new compounds has led to the availability of NSAID'S with milder side effects.
