a NERVE may be injured by being severed; pressure may damage a nerve directly or push it against a BONE . Damage to a SENSORY nerve results in a lack of, or lessening in, sensation, while PARALYSIS of MUSCLES will result from damage to the associated MOTOR NERVE .
