myeloma
a MALIGNANT disease of the BONE MARROW in which TUMOURS are present in more than one bone at the same time. The bones may show 'holes' when X-rayed because of typical deposits, and certain abnormal PROTEINS may be present in the blood and urine. Treatment is by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Myelomatosis is the production of myeloma, which is usually fatal.
