an ALPHA BLOCKER drug that causes peripheral blood vessels to dilate (see VASODILATOR ). It is administered by mouth in the treatment of Raynaud's disease and similar conditions. Side-effects include mild nausea, diarrhoea, headache, and flushing. The drug should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus or heart disease.
