an abnormal curvature of the legs so that when the knees are touching, the ankles are spaced apart. when walking, the knees knock, and severe cases can lead to stress on the JOINTS in the legs, with ARTHRITIS . Surgery may be performed to correct the condition, which in the past was commonly a result of RICKETS but is now mainly the result of poor MUSCLES .
