irradiation

the use in treatment of any form of radiating energy, i.e. electromagnetic radiation in the form of X-RAY , alpha, beta or gamma radiation and also heat and light. Some radiations are used in diagnosis or cancer treatments, others for relief of pain (heat treatment), etc.
