INFLAMMATION of the ILEUM , with pain, bowel irregularity and loss of weight. The intestinal wall may become thickened, and if the tract becomes blocked, surgery is required immediately. The specific cause is not known, but it may occur in association with TUBERCULOSIS , bacterial infection (by Yersinia enterocolitica), CROHN'S DISEASE and TYPHOID .
