the presence of HAEMOGLOBIN in the URINE caused by disintegration of red BLOOD cells, conferring a dark red or brown colour. It can sometimes result from strenuous exercise or after exposure to cold in some people. It is also caused by the ingestion of poisons, such as arsenic, and is a symptom of some infections, particularly BLACKWATER FEVER .
