gamma globulin

a concentrated form of the ANTIBODY part of human BLOOD . It is used for IMMUNIZATION against certain infectious diseases, e.g. measles, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A, etc. It is of no use when the disease is diagnosed but can prevent or modify it if given before. See also GLOBULIN .
