felodipine
Felodipine is a CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER medication used to treat high blood pressure (HYPERTENSION) and, in some cases, angina (chest pain) by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.
Felodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the movement of calcium into the smooth muscle cells of blood vessel walls. This causes the blood vessels to relax and widen (vasodilation), reducing blood pressure and decreasing the workload on the heart. Felodipine is primarily prescribed for the treatment of hypertension and may also be used in the management of chronic stable angina. Common side effects include headache, flushing, dizziness, swelling of the ankles or feet (peripheral edema), and palpitations. Like other calcium channel blockers, felodipine helps reduce the risk of complications associated with uncontrolled high blood pressure, such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease.
Felodipine is a medicine used to lower high blood pressure. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. This helps reduce strain on the heart and lowers the risk of serious health problems caused by high blood pressure.
