the front-facing part of the head, which extends from the chin to the forehead. There are 14 bones in the skull, supporting the face, and numerous fine muscles are responsible for movements around the eyes, nose and mouth, producing expression. These are under the control of the seventh cranial nerve, which is a mixed sensory and motor nerve known as the FACIAL NERVE .
