ductless gland
also: ductless glands
a GLAND that releases its secretion directly into the blood for transport around the body, e.g. the PITUITARY and THYROID . Some glands, such as the PANCREAS , operate as a ductless gland (for INSULIN ) but secrete a digestive juice via ducts into the small INTESTINE .
