when a patient is prescribed several drugs, there is the possibility for interactions between some or all of the medications. There are several ways in which the interaction may occur, e.g. one drug displacing another at the site of action thus affecting its effectiveness, or alteration in the rate of destruction of one drug by another (by altering the activity of liver ENZYMES ), and also by prevention of absorption.
