cerebrum

the largest and most highly developed part of the brain, consisting of a pair of cerebral hemispheres divided from each other by a longitudinal fissure. The cerebral hemispheres are covered by the CEREBRAL CORTEX , below which lies WHITE MATTER in which the BASAL GLANGLIA are situated. The cerebrum controls complex intellectual activities and also all the voluntary responses of the body.
