cerebral cortex
the outer layer of GREY MATTER of the cerebral hemispheres of the CEREBRUM . It is highly folded and contains many millions of nerve cells and makes up about 40 percent of the brain by weight. The cerebral cortex controls intellectual processes such as thought, perception, memory and intellect, and is also involved in the sense of sight, touch and hearing. It also controls the voluntary movement of muscles and is connected with all the different parts of the body.`
