cerebellum

the largest part of the hind brain, consisting of a pair of joined hemispheres. It has an outer grey cortex, which is a much folded layer of GREY MATTER , and an inner core of WHITE MATTER . The cerebellum coordinates the activity of various groups of voluntary muscles and maintains posture and balance.
