a PARASYMPATHOMIMETIC drug used (now infrequently) in the treatment of urinary retention; side-effects may include sweating, nausea, and faintness. It is also occasionally used (as eye drops) as a treatment for glaucoma; side-effects include headache and local burning and itching.
