a drug used to treat ANGINA , reduce high BLOOD PRESSURE and manage abnormal HEART rhythms. Certain receptors of nerves in the SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM are blocked, reducing heart activity. A notable SIDE EFFECT is constriction of bronchial passages, which may adversely affect some patients.
